Using S6 Schools
These terms apply to access to the S6 Schools website and platform. A school's signed order, pilot agreement, data-processing terms, and approved policies take priority if they conflict with this public notice. If you use an account supplied by a school, you must also follow that school's acceptable-use and privacy rules.
Accounts and authorised access
- Provide accurate information and use only the account assigned to you.
- Keep passwords, recovery links, and multi-factor codes confidential.
- Use information only for the school role and learners assigned to you.
- Notify the school or S6 Schools promptly if access may be compromised.
- Do not attempt to bypass tenant, role, approval, audit, or security controls.
Acceptable use
Do not use the service unlawfully; upload malicious or infringing material; harass others; probe or overload the platform; automate access without approval; scrape school data; interfere with availability; or use reports and communications beyond their intended audience. Security research requires written permission and an agreed scope.
School responsibilities
Schools are responsible for authorised user assignments, the accuracy and lawful collection of school data, approval and publication decisions, retention instructions, parent and learner notices, and timely removal of access. Reports and analytics support professional judgement and do not replace a school's statutory, academic, safeguarding, or financial responsibilities.
Service and changes
We work to keep the platform secure and available, but maintenance, incidents, third-party services, or pilot limitations can interrupt access. Features may change to improve security, reliability, or school workflows. Contracted service levels, support channels, backups, and exit arrangements are governed by the applicable school agreement.
Data and intellectual property
The school and its users retain their rights in authorised content they submit. They grant the limited permission needed to host, process, back up, and display that content to provide the service. S6 Schools retains rights in the platform, documentation, interface, and underlying software. Users must have permission for material they upload.
Suspension and ending access
Access may be restricted or suspended to protect users, respond to a security event, comply with law, address misuse, or follow a school administrator's instruction. When a school relationship ends, data return and deletion follow the applicable agreement, retention duties, and verified school instructions.
Law and contact
These public terms are governed by the laws of South Africa. Any contractual dispute process in a signed school agreement takes priority.
Questions about these terms can be sent to pilots@s6schools.co.za. Account or school-record questions should first be directed to the relevant school administrator.
